Baseball Parents

Real performance hydration their kids will actually drink.

Why Baseball Specifically

Baseball players sweat differently. Catchers wear ~15 lbs of gear behind the plate. Position players play under summer sun in dark uniforms. Pitchers warm up, sit, and re-warm across nine innings. The sodium loss profile of a baseball player in full gear during a July tournament has almost nothing in common with a runner finishing a 5K.

Travel ball weekends compound the problem. Three games Saturday, two Sunday, no real recovery window between games — just a hotel ice machine and whatever's in the cooler. By Sunday's second game, sodium debt is real, and cramps in the seventh are the predictable outcome.

Position-specific demands matter, too. Catchers lose the most sodium per inning. Pitchers go through micro-cycles of exertion and rest. Outfielders bake in the sun for hours with little opportunity to drink. A single hydration product has to cover all three.

Generic sports drinks were not engineered for any of this. A 20oz bottle of Gatorade — the size most travel ball kids actually grab — delivers 270mg of sodium, 34g of added sugar, 140 calories, and artificial Blue 1 dye plus synthetic stabilizers like glycerol ester of rosin. It's a formula built for general athletes in 45-minute workouts. It under-doses sodium for baseball's actual demand, dumps a sugar load that crashes in the late innings, and adds ingredients no ballplayer should be drinking three times on a Saturday.

Who Built This

On Deck was founded in 2026 by a baseball dad in Parkland, Florida who spent years on travel ball fences watching his kids — and thousands of others — grind through tournaments with no hydration product actually built for what baseball demands. After looking for something engineered for the real sodium loss of multi-game weekends in full gear and finding nothing on the market, he built it.

On Deck operates under On Deck Life LLC, a subsidiary of Wicked Labs LLC, a Florida-based venture studio focused on building category-defining consumer brands. The team behind On Deck includes operators with backgrounds in e-commerce logistics, CPG manufacturing, and competitive baseball at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels.

On Deck is not built by a marketing agency or a consumer beverage conglomerate. It's built in the dugout, for the dugout.
